Logo Proposal for a dairy products cooperation in Thessaly.
In the context of of the European program LACTIMED, the Central Union of Greek Chambers and University of Thessaly launched a competition open to the development of a logo-image. This logo will be used by the group of entrepreneurs and operators in the dairy sector of Thessaly resulting from the actions of this program with the descriptive name: «Terra Thessalia Lactis» and subtitle: Cooperation of Small Dairy Territories of Thessaly.
The purpose of the logo was to create a single identity for dairy products of Thessaly and to provide broad visibility, in order to assist the communication effort for the notification of the products, both in Greece and abroad.
Under the creative discussions we had on the actions and objectives of the association, we identified the needs for the design of the logo, which concerns the promotion of dairy products and business carriers of the dairy sector in Thessaly. Based on the information gathered, we created a logo - emblem in order to enhance the visual communication of the association and increase its turnover.
The emblem of the logo depicts the Thessalic land in which are included mountains and hills as the main feature of the land. In order to strengthen the element of earth, we placed the sun, having four empty spots on the rays, symbolizing the main dairy products produced by the Thessalic site (milk, yogurt, butter and cheese). To complete the emblem, a drop was placed to highlight milk as the main ingredient for the production, which embraces the two primary elements of the emblem.
These three elements create a sense of the letter "Theta" (Θ) as a typographic element of word "Thessaly" (Θεσσαλία) in a way that the internal elements (sun and earth) tend to join, highlighting the purpose of the association.
